Welcome in the new year with a whole new Twitter, & a whole new theme!! Today Twitter launched a new sleek version of their web and mobile site. They've simplified the design to make it easier than ever to follow what you care about, connect with others and discover something new. Most importantly, you’ll find this new design showcases your theme in a whole new way. Watch the video below to learn more, and read the instructions to find out how to make the switch!

Make the switch:

You can get early access on your computer by downloading the updated app from the App Store on your iPhone or Android. This only works if you are able to download the app onto your phone. Once the updated version has been downloaded to your phone simply log-out of Twitter & sign back in. You can do this through the app or through your internet browser on your phone. Once you see the new version on your phone then head to your computer and hit refresh! The switch may take several minutes, but this should get you set with a whole new Twitter! Now pick a whole new theme!

Air France USA ran a Facebook contest with the theme "Picture Yourself in Paris". Our friend Betsy submitted a really awesome entry and made the top 10 out of 1,800 entries! Now it's down to votes. The person with the most votes gets to fly to Paris and stay 5 nights in a sweet hotel! If you wanna vote, all you have to do is like Air France USA and vote for Betsy's photo at the top! WORKAROUND: While we're waiting for Twitter to fix this issue, here's a workaround to manually upload our background images to your Twitter page!

UPDATE: Twitter has been having issues with background images not applying. As displayed in the message below, they are aware of the problem and it is in the process of being fixed. The issue is on Twitter's end and there's nothing we can do about it. Check the Twitter Status page for updates, or send a tweet to @Support to let them know you're having an issue.

Background not showing up? Some users have told us that after applying a theme, the colors change on their profile but the image never shows up. We looked into this bug and found the glitch! If you're experiencing this problem, follow these steps:

1. Click Settings from your Twitter page

2. Click on the Design tab

3. Select "Change background image"

4. You should see a preview of your theme in the box on the left. Select this box, then save changes.

Unfortunately, Twitter's OAuth doesn't tell us if this option is selected or deselected, and so there is no way from our end to ensure that the background image is not disabled. Hopefully Twitter is aware of this issue and will get it fixed!

Think your pup would make an adorable @tweetygotback theme? So do we! Pose your pup and post it on our Facebook wall or tweet us the photo! Be sure to hashtag your tweet with #TweetyGotBark. We will select the best photos and put them in our new Dog Lovers category! Want to have a good chance of being selected? Here's a couple of helpful tips: make sure you send a high quality large photo and make it unique! We're artsy fartsy girls, and we'll be selecting photos that suit our style.

Having Déjà vu? It's not you, it's us. This contest was originally launched last Fall. Because of Twitter introducing the layout, we were unable to design the winning themes. However, now that we know how to rock the current space we can't wait to get our paws on your puppy pics!

What an honor to be named Best Startup at the Westword #WebAwards! The awards ceremony, held at Casselman's Bar & Venue, celebrated the best of Denver's websites, blogs and social media power-users.
